여덟 번째 개인전을 열면서......
이번 전시는 오롯이 차 도구에 집중해보는 네 번째 전시이다. 세 번의 차도구전을 통해 내가 만들고자 하는 도구에 대한 탐색으로 시작된 차 마시기가
이제는 차인으로서 내가 필요로 하는 도구들에 대한 접근으로 변화되었다.
그간 다제구(茶諸具)와 식기(食器)작업을 넘나들며 나 자신의 조형언어를 찾아가는 과정이었던 지난 경험들이 이번 전시에 함축적으로 드러난다.
‘끽다’에 유용하고 아름다운 도구들에 대한 상상은 전시를 준비하는 동안 설렘과 즐거움이었다.
둥근 보름달의 망치 ‘자죽’들이 쌓여가면서 기물의 형태가 갖추어져 가고, 내가 즐겨이 쓰는 점과 선과 면들이 형태와 만나 하나의 기물로 완성되어 간다.
그간 주된 패턴으로 나타났던 줄기와 잎새의 투각이 확장된 개념으로 줄기를 늘어뜨리거나 때로는 동심원을 그리면서 기능에 앉혀졌다.
한 점 한 점 정중히 완성해낸 나의 다제구들이 차 생활 입문자이거나, 이미 끽다거인 차인들에게 도구에 대한 새로운 시선과 흥미가 되기를 바라본다.
with opening the eighth solo exhibition....
This is the fourth exhibition focused on tea utensils. Through three times' tea utensils exhibitions,
drinking tea that started with a search for the tools I want to make has now been transformed into an approach to the tools I need as a tea lover.
Past experiences that I've had in finding my own formative language across teawares and tablewares work have been implicitly revealed in this exhibition.
The imagination about useful and beautiful tools in tea-making was thrill and joy while preparing for the exhibition.
As the hammer marks of the round full moon pile up, the object forms, and my favorite points, lines and facets meet with the form and are completed as a object.
The stems and leaves in my works, which have been shown as the main pattern, have been extended out and sometimes have drawn concentric circles to function.
I hope that my tea utensils which have been politely made, will be a new look and interest in the tools for tea beginners and those who have already had tea for a long time.
